C.E.O, DJ, promoter, producer, and radio personality, Roody Lubin better known as DJ Uneek, stands in charge of his own path. Born and raised in Port-au-Prince, Haiti, DJ Uneek, came to the US in his adolescent. Although he had an upbringing in a very musically-influenced home, he didn’t pursue entertainment as a career of choice in the beginning. Too hard to stay away from, his love for music kept burning inside of him; so he eventually embarked on his passion. With the influence of DJ Master Track, also known as DJ Dominique, a very popular Disc-Jockey in the Haitian Music Industry, DJ Uneeklearned how to beat match, pitch control, transition, etc…He soon branched out on his own and started his career as a DJ playing at a many events in his community. Years later, he decided to take on a new venture by starting an online radio station called, KreyolJAM.com – A station that cover various styles and genres of music with a focus on the Haitian-Caribbean sound to embrace his culture. KreyolJAM.com provides a platform for unknown artist to showcase their talent and music. Hence, the reason for the station’s slogan, “Your MUSIC, Your STATION”.
When not DJing or on the radio, DJ Uneek spends his time in the studio creating his own music. Having spent many years playing at so many local night clubs, DJing at special events and promoting his own shows and radio station; Roody has had a lot of time to develop his own sound and style. For him, it’s all about mood. “I get my inspiration from all over. When I’m entertaining the crowd, I like to start by getting you tapping your feet, nodding your head and shaking without you realizing it, regardless of genre, tempo, style and no matter how far back or new the song is. You’ll find yourself suddenly dancing.”
